Keegan's surgery

Keegan had his trigger finger surgery today. The whole way to Seattle he kept saying, "goin to the dockers so they can fickin my thumb" He was such a brave boy! Once the nurse called us back, we changed Keegan into a gown and he got to watch cartoons for a bit. He loves trains and there was a new cartoon, Chugginton, that we hadn't seen before. Oh how he loved it, he didn't even say anything or move around and if you know Keegan, that is not the norm. The anesthesiologist came in and gave him a liquid sedative and we waiting for it to kick in. A few minutes later he was relaxed and the nurse carried him into surgery, he seemed a little concerned that we weren't going with him, but thankfully he had that sedative because he didn't even cry!! The whole surgery took about 10 minutes, we talked with Dr Hanlan and then waited, oh the waiting, for a page to let us know we could visit with Keeg in recovery. We could hear him asking for "my mom" and whining. It was very similar to how he awoke from his penny escapade. Spent a few more minutes there, he drank lots of juice, oh he was so thirsty!

Getting keeg into the carseat has been an issue on and off for a very long time, today was no different. He did NOT want to sit in his seat and yelled and screamed for about 10 minutes before he calmed down. Thankfully Shannon put his ear pieces in and drowned out the crying....I hate listening to crying followed by yelling. Funny enough, we made it to North Bend and went shopping!! Keeg did great, he got new clothes and a new pair of kicks! I on the otherhand am upset and depressed. I went into the Coach outlet store and could not decide on the "perfect" purse to buy, so I left with nothing. Ughhh

The trip home was pretty easy, we had to pull over a couple times thru out the day so Keegan could pee on the side of the road. I know, I know, but what are you supposed to do? I tried telling him he could just pee in his pullup, but he would not have it. That kid has some serious bladder control! He now thinks that peeing on the side of the road is an appropriate thing to do, I am sure this will come back to haunt us.
All dressed up and ready to go!

It's potty time!

This last week my mom decided it was time for Keegan to get potty trained. She put him in big boy underwear and he hasn't looked back! Don't get me wrong, there have been accidents, but so far so good.
